The Queen of the Sea, Lisbon, Portugal is home to over half a million people. Located where the Tagus meets the Atlantic Ocean, the access to the sea enabled this small nation to be a superpower as it stretched its commerce and exploitation via trading posts in Brazil, Mozambique. Calcutta and Indonesia. The city of seven hills has a topography indicative of geological activity, which became evident when a deadly earthquake struck in 1755. That devastation led to the end of the superpower, but its monarchy marched onward into the 20th century. Lisbon was the seat of civil unrest until the harrowing years of the Salazar dictatorship. The citizenry remarkably chose peace via the Carnation revolution at the end of that era and has been a tourist powerhouse ever since. The 1998 World EXPO further enshrined the city as such. Cork is a natural material, thus rare aberrations within the etching can occur, but at this scale good luck noticing.
