The second most populous city in the USA, Los Angeles was founded in 1850 as it was purchased after the Mexican-American War as part of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo. The City of Angels coaster set contains the pragmatic and somewhat visually illiterate Made in India cover. Remarkable, really. Sometimes this Drain cover is made in Mexico and also writ as large. The Thomas Haverty cover dates back to the earlier part of the 20th century is also featured as a trivet. WUTel is a defunct cover originally altered for Western Union Telecommunications. The hexagonal design is a Bell Standard, with this one featuring a nod to the local baseball team. Lastly, the Sewer cover dates to the 1910s and was a favorite of Mimi and Robert Melnick who literally wrote the book on manhole covers. They wanted this particular cover to hang over their sofa. Cork is a natural material, thus rare aberrations within the etching can occur, but at this scale good luck noticing.
