Manhole Cover Cork Trivet-Salzburg
Manhole Cover Cork Trivet-Salzburg
Known as the birthplace of Mozart, Salzburg is a Unesco World Heritage site given its extraordinary Baroque architecture and the enormous fortress of Hohensalzburg. This “most inspiring city” has its roots in Roman times and received its etymological designation for the taxes levied on salt barges winding their way on the River Salzach. Located just north of the city is Rinehalteverband where this manhole cover was cast. Alternating concentric trapezoids surround the centered brand and city name with a few giving ways to vent holes and a curious-looking gum splat. Running the border is a keyboard of inwardly pointing radial linework, perhaps a reference to the aforementioned and most famous resident of Salzburg. This coaster is also found in the Austria manhole coaster set.
The perfect gift for housewarmings, and anniversaries each illustration is initially hand-drawn for precision and then permanently etched into cork. The trivets are .375" thick and 7.25" in diameter with rounded edges. The engraving method has incredible detail and tactility. Fabricated from sustainable Portuguese cork. Designed and packaged in Philadelphia, PA USA.
Cork is a natural material, thus rare aberrations within the etching can occur.
As each one is made to order please allow three business days for delivery.
