Located along the Adriatic in the middle of the Dalmatian coast, Zadar is Croatia’s fifth-largest city. Protected by the Kornati archipelago, the city’s relationship with the sea is evident with its extraordinary Sea Organ which provides a unique urban soundtrack depending on the motion of the Adriatic…as well as its patron saint, Chrysogonus. A devout Christian whose faith resulted in his beheading by the Roman leadership and his body was tossed into the sea. The depiction of St. Chrysogonus is ubiquitous in the city including on this cover for sewerage. Chrysogonus would be so proud.
